We stumbled across this small harbourside pier row of shops and restaurants in passing through town. Yelp led us to Harbor Fish & Chips in our search for Clam Chowder. Thanks to our Yelp reviewers, this was an excellent choice. Ordering is simple up at the counter. Prices are very reasonable with great portion sizes. There are the typical fried seafood baskets of fish and shrimp with fries, clam chowder bowls and cups, and even burgers! Food comes out fast, but you need to stand nearby waiting for your number to br called and bring your own food to your table. It would be helpful to have someone else in your party to grab a table preferably at one of their waterside tables and benches. Alternatively, there are other outdoor tables and seats in a cramped patio space. I'd opt out of the older indoor dining spaces. Food as stated are served in large portions. One two price fish and chips could very well serve two people if you aren't a big eater. The location is impeccable overlooking the rows of private boats docked in the harbor. Can't wait for a return visit during our next visit to this cute coastal town.
Stopped here tonight for dinner. We all ordered fish and chips.i had 2 pieces of fish and they were huge. Cooked nicely outside had light crisp coating . Fried were also good. The tartar sauce was actually not good. It was missing relish. Tasted like straight mayonnaise. Being from New England I know good tartar sauce. I would go again nice sitting on the dock price was not excessive.
This is the second time we have been to this place, and it is delicious. The first time we went, we were just hungry and we thought maybe that is the reason everything tasted so good...This time around however when we showed up, we knew what to order and Again we're very impressed. I recommend the fish and chips (which they are known for)but you cannot go wrong with the tacos which of the size of your head ...you may only eat one. On my clam chowder meter this is a four Out of 10.
It is a great place to eat some delicious seafood. My friend and I, by luck, found this Harbor Fish & Chips in Oceanside. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon.. It's a good thing we call ahead to place an order to go. The food was done in 20 minutes, and we could get all the tarter, cocktail, and ketchup sauces. I didn't see any malt vinegar that would have been nice. The cod fish was about 8 in long and perfectly fried. It was crispy on the outside and moist and delicious. The fried shrimp seasoned good and delicious. The fries were plentiful and hot. They taste best when eaten right away. I will definitely try this place again. I give 4 stars out of 5 stars. A definite try if you're in Oceanside.
Fun fish place by the pier! I was looking for fish and chips before I departed Oceanside, and randomly picked This joint. Great quantity( they actually gave me an additional piece of fish) and loved that I could swap out the fries and grab a fresh, sizable salad. If anything, the fish could've used a dash of salt, but add malt vinegar or tartar sauce, and you're set! Ate to my hearts content and had enough for supper too!
